Originally founded in 1964 by the late L.C. "Larry" Phipps, Electrical Sales Associates, Inc. is a manufacturers representative serving Maryland, District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The company has grown to a viable and respected representative servicing all areas of the electrical industry.

Officers of the Corporation are Mark T. Phipps - President, Robert "Bob" Dean - Vice President Md./DC, and Charles "Chuck" Gaunt VP Virginia.

Growth over the years afforded ESA two recent expansion opportunities.  First in 1994 with the acquisition of fellow representative firm and secondly in 1995 with the merger of Electrical Manufacturers Agency located in Richmond, Va.  The latest opportunity was in October, 2001 when ESA completed the asset purchase of Agency Group, Inc. Today the company maintains sales offices in Gambrills, Md. and Richmond, Va. with a total of 24 employees.

Both office locations are fully computer networked and utilize software for contact management, presentations, commission tracking and sales analysis.  To further enhance customer service, ESA has developed custom software for quotations, follow-up reports, lost business reports and capture ratios.  Communication with ESA can be accomplished via phone, fax, EDI or E-mail.

For easy accessibility all outside salespeople are equipped with pagers and auto phones.  In addition, Technical Salespeople all utilize laptop computers for calculations such as pulling tension, side wall bearing pressure, conversion from copper to aluminum alloy, specifications and presentations.
